The checkup does not upload your GPS coordinates or record your microphone. Spoken-word testing uses your browser’s speech service, which may process audio online. Only start tests you want to use.

Start in the right place

Opened in a browser tab. Use Chrome for these instructions. Samsung Internet and other browsers may use different menus.

How to install / open Wayborne

In Chrome, open ⋮ and choose Add to Home screen or Install app. Open the Wayborne icon.

If this link opened inside Facebook, Messenger or another app, use its menu to open it in your browser. Menu names vary by phone version.

How to fix or enable this

Turn on Wi-Fi or mobile data, reopen the secure Wayborne link and retry. Use a regular browser window. This test does not clear your data or change privacy settings.

GPS location

Needed for your current position and navigation. This does not turn on sharing with other riders.

How to fix or enable this
  1. Open phone Settings → Location and turn it on.
  2. Open Settings → Apps → Chrome → Permissions → Location. Allow while using the app and turn on Use precise location if shown. Use your actual browser’s name if different.
  3. In Chrome, open ⋮ → Settings → Site settings → Location. Find Wayborne in the blocked list and allow it. You can also use the site controls beside its address.
  4. Return here, tap Test GPS again, and allow the request.

Microphone access

Optional for voice planning. Typed destinations still work without it.

How to fix or enable this
  1. Open Settings → Apps → Chrome → Permissions → Microphone and allow it while using the app.
  2. In Chrome open ⋮ → Settings → Site settings → Microphone. Allow requests and remove Wayborne from Blocked.
  3. If your phone has a Microphone access privacy switch, turn it on. End other calls, return here and retry.

A working microphone does not guarantee that the browser’s speech service is available. Keep an internet connection and use the typed planner if recognition is unsupported.

How to fix or enable this

Connect your helmet or headset, select it as the phone’s audio output, and raise media volume while the sample plays. Try the phone speaker if silent. This page cannot read your volume, Bluetooth routing or whether you heard the sample.

How to fix or enable this

Allow notifications for Wayborne in Chrome’s Site settings, and for Chrome / Wayborne in phone Settings → Notifications. Check Focus / Do Not Disturb if alerts are silent.

Use Send me a test below. Service acceptance is not proof it appeared on your phone. Confirm only after seeing the test.

Before a real ride

Keep Wayborne visible and the screen awake. The browser cannot reliably inspect battery restrictions, Focus, precise-location switches or background operation. These checks confirm individual features now, not a complete road test.

If location accuracy remains poor outside, send the results instead of assuming a setting is wrong.

Official help & test limits

Settings labels vary by browser and OS version. A permission-denied result does not reveal which setting caused it. Results stay on this page until you choose to copy them.
